Ag Leader SteadySteer

SteadySteer is an electrical autosteer system that uses the factory fitted steering wheel. It is compatible with most tractor makes and models.

SteadySteer fits right onto the standard steering wheel. When moving it from one tractor to another, the SCM (box) is moved by removing four screws (two only need partially unscrewing as the mounting points are slotted) and one or two cables depending on installation type.

What is the most striking detail of your system?

Full farm solution with user friendly interface and split screen on InCommand 1200. Split screen allows users to see UT screen and map screen at the same time, or cameras and map screen et cetera.

How is it fitted?

Usually dealer installed and calibrated. Can be fitted in 2-3 hours if done properly (cables routed correctly and out of sight).

Can it be fitted on pre-installed or factory fitted vehicle components?

Uses factory fitted steering wheel.

Can you take the system to another vehicle?

Both tractors should be equipped with a vehicle kit specific to the tractor, as well as GNSS receiver cables and display cables. Then the Display, GNSS receiver, SCM and SteadySteer MDU are moved.

What happens if satellite or correction signals lack or fail?

StableLoc technology transitions from RTK to EGNOS to GLIDE and back again. How long it lasts for is user defined depending on how much compromise in accuracy customers are willing to accept to keep moving. No subscription needed, free or otherwise.

What patterns are available?

Straight AB, Identical Curve, Adaptive Curve, Pivot, SmartPath. Tramlines, Access Paths and Pattern Grouping are also options within some guidance patterns. Visual tramline layout, visual assess path layout, FollowPath (CartAce).

FieldBee autosteer system

FieldBee offers +1 cm accuracy at only € 1299 using RTK signals from private base stations and local NTRIP providers. The latter more and more give RTK signals for free or at quite affordable prices.

The FieldBee Android based tractor navigation app has a lot of free features and advantages.

What is the most striking detail of your system?

It works as a stand-alone GNSS antenna that improves GPS accuracy and can receive RTK signal from both private base stations and local NTRIP providers. This means that with a FieldBee Receiver, a farmer can get +1 cm accuracy at only € 1299. Range of receiving correction is 20+ km via Internet and 2.5+ km via Radio. Time to receive first RTK signal is less than 60 sec. Time to recover RTK signal < 30 sec.

How is it fitted?

Can be installed in 3 ways, depends on customer and autosteer type:

  1. By farmer him-/herself based on tutorials, manuals and how-to videos and free online support

Hexagon HxGN AgrOn Auto Steering

Hexagon Agriculture is part of Hexagon and so is the Leica brand. Hexagon Agriculture autosteer solutions might not ring a bell immediately, but the Leica brand is well-known for its gps solutions for construction and mining machinery.

Hexagon Agriculture offers both electrical and hydraulic autosteer solutions for various types of tractors and other vehicles.

What is the most striking detail of your system?

It has a dedicated sensor to detect small deviations in trajectories even before GNNS (Global Navigation Satellite System), resulting in high accuracy performance. Includes an incline and abrupt manoeuvre correction system. Has the additional module of remote access.

How is it fitted?

The electric auto steering installation typically takes four hours to complete and requires a more skilled technician for finishing matters than for mechanical ones. The installation of a hydraulic auto steering requires a more specific technical service when compared to the electric model. Typically, this type of installation takes six hours to complete. The assembly of a hydraulic auto steering requires a modification to the tractor’s original hydraulic circuit, which is the most laborious task.

Can it be fitted on pre-installed or factory fitted vehicle components?

The hydraulic system can. It is also possible to connect our system to tractors that have an electronic hydrostatic steering valve.

Can you take the system to another vehicle?

It is very easy to change the electrical equipment to another tractor as long as some basic items are installed in the other vehicle. These items are provided in an additional parts kit. To change the hydraulic system from one vehicle to another, it is necessary to have the hydraulic, mechanical components, cables and the control module installed in both vehicles.

What happens if satellite or correction signals lack or fail?

The GNSS receiver can keep us operating for some time in case of correction signal lacks. We can’t operate without a GNSS signal.

What patterns are available?

Accuracy in all modes of operation – straight, curved, pivot and adaptive.

How often and at what costs is the software updated?

2 to 3 times per year. Software update is for free and you can download from our web page.

Which licenses/unlocks are available and at what costs?

GNSS Standard include GPS and Glonass. No cost. Isobus available: TC: € 450, UT € 450 UT+TC: € 650.

Hexagon is currently implementing Isobus compatibility. Displays have the additional module for remote access.

Raven RS1

Raven RS1 is a scalable autosteer solution ranging from lightbar assisted steering to RTK-based hydraulic autosteer. It comes with either a CR7 of CR12 display.

When you choose the CR12 display, an operation planning tool to pre-plan a yearly operation comes as standard.

What is the most striking detail of your system?

The Raven RS1 platform is a platform with a lot of flexibility. With a CR7 it starts with manual/lightbar steering or just an iso display for application control. But is fully scalable to RTK steering and capable with application control for 5 products. Raven provides cloud-functionalities as an option.

How is it fitted?

Hydraulic steering is most likely to be installed by a Raven dealer. Depending on the platform it takes 4 to 20 hours of installation. On a steer-ready vehicle, the cabling and hydraulics are there and installation will be quick.

Can it be fitted on pre-installed or factory fitted vehicle components?

Yes. For most machines Raven has a solution and more are developed day by day. Depending on the platform, a license from the manufacturer is necessary to use a third-party steering system.

Can you take the system to another vehicle?

Yes, very easily. There are only 2 connectors in the cab and only 1 on the rooftop. The display is the first part, the second is the all-in-one RS1, which contains RTK-GPS receiver, RTK-cellular-modem, gyro, hydraulic drive unit and remote control.

What happens if satellite or correction signals lack or fail?

Yes, we support up to 20 minutes with RTK-L when the RTK-signal is lost. If you like to be supported for a longer time, then Raven GS-PRO is a Satellite based solution. This will be 3 cm accurate all the time with a yearly fee.

What patterns are available?

AB, A+, curved, pivot, contour, last pass guidance, pre-configured. The planning tool makes it possible to pre-plan a yearly operation. A pre-operation plan can be created where you can move contour points, offset tramline, make headlands with different offsets like spray lines/harvest or irrigation paths/boundary paths (field edge/no till zone) etc. POI is supported.

How often and at what costs is the software updated?

Software updates for the features that are bought are for free and occur 4 times a year, each quarter.

Which licenses/unlocks are available and at what costs?

ISO-VT is standard. Optional are TC, including TC-SC € 850, TC single VRA € 805, TC multi VRA € 1080. For cloud we have 3 different licenses with each a yearly fee.

Raven offers a wide array of patterns including AB, A+, curved, pivot, contour, last pass guidance and pre-configured patterns.
